For use under medical direction. Each 5ml contains: Ibuprofen Ph. Eur. 100mg in an orange flavoured syrup base. To be dispensed only on the prescription of a registered medical practitioner. Protect from excessive heat & light. Shake the bottle before use. Brufen DS has been specially formulated to make the well established therapeutic benefits of Ibuprofen available for application in paediatric practice. Palatable to take, Brufen DS would encounter no resistance in ensuring therapeutic compliance and at the same time it will permit administration of correct dosage to younger group of patients. Indications: Brufen DS exhibits potent antipyretic, analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties. It is therefore indicated in pyrexia, juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, soft-tissue inflammation, traumatic-inflammation and non-specific aches. Dosage: 6-7 years: Half teaspoon (2.5 ml) 3-4 times a day. 8-12 years: One teaspoonful (5 ml)3-4 times a day. Calculated on the basis of 20-30 mg/kg body weight and suitably approximated. Contraindications, Warnings, Etc.: Brufen DS is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the inactive ingredients. Brufen DS should not be given to patients who have experienced asthma, urticaria or allergic-type reactions after taking aspirin or other NSAIDS. It is also contraindicated in patients with a history of gastrointestinal bleeding or perforation, related to previous NSAID therapy.
